Uh-oh. App Passwords Vanished?
You’re trying to connect a third-party app to your Google Account. You need that 16-digit app password. But the option? Nowhere to be found.
Don’t panic. This happens. And the fix takes less time than making coffee.
Why It’s Missing (Simple Reason)
Google hides the app passwords option until you turn on 2-Step Verification (2FA).
No 2FA = No app passwords.
That’s it.
The Fix in 4 Steps
Step 1: Go to Your Google Account
Click your profile picture → “Manage your Google Account”
Step 2: Turn On 2FA
Go to Security → Two-step verification → Click “Turn on” → Follow the prompts → Hit “Done”
Step 3: Search Again
Type “app passwords” in the search bar. Now it appears.
Step 4: Create Your 16-Digit Code
Name your app → Click “Create” → Copy the yellow box code → Paste it where needed
⚠️ One Big Warning
That 16-digit code is like a key to your Google Account.
Never share it with anyone.
If you do, they’re in.
Done? You’re All Set
That’s it. Now your third-party app can connect. Took 2 minutes. Told you.
